Partnership Opportunities

Deal Flow Organization Network

Deal Flow Organizations are partners that have a pulse on the social innovation ecosystem in their regions. DFOs work with, support, or collaborate with social purpose organizations (e.g. charities, non-profits, ventures, small businesses) on a regular basis.

What does partnership look like? We contact DFO partners quarterly to ensure SPOs they work with that need financial or expertise support are considered by Canvas Foundation and network partners.

Expert Service Providers

Expert Service Providers are organizations that provide specialized services to social purpose organizations. This includes: financial services (investment, fundraising, accounting); strategy (business model design, market research); and creative (branding, design).

What does partnership look like? Currently, through the Social Innovation Academy, we have supported 8 Expert Service Providers with access to funding for student internships. We are working with Dossier Creative to develop the Canvas Collective: a network of ESP members that benefit from internship funding in addition to providing low-cost access to their services for social purpose organizations.

Partnership Opportunities

Join a Social Value Fund

The Social Value Fund program empowers teams of student peers to run an impact-focused fund in their community that supports identified financing gaps. We currently have SVFs operating in Vancouver, BC; Calgary, AB; London, ON; Kingston, ON; and Montreal, QC.

What does partnership look like? Each Social Value Fund team is built with a variety of skill sets, and represents a blend of post-secondary faculties. Our teams are chosen by the previous cohort in the community in which you are applying.

Create a Social Value Fund

Our model is built to be replicable. We aim to support new social value funds in communities big and small across Canada over the next two years, and into new countries shortly after. Each new social value fund is always lead by exceptional student innovators. Whether you are a current student, alumni of your university, or a community member wanting to see this Fund supporting social purpose organizations in your region, there is a way for you to be involved.

What does partnership look like?If you are interested in starting a SVF, we can help guide you to support the creation of a social value fund in your location.

Social Innovation Academy

The SIA Fellowship is an experiential learning program that runs during the academic year. Between September and April, we train students, from multiple disciplines and backgrounds, to build strong foundations in social innovation & social finance.

What does partnership look like? Over the course of the academic year, SIA Fellows work with social purpose organizations on bite-size challenges. In the summer, select Fellows are offered paid, full-time internships with social innovation organizations across Canada.
